 Before any research project should begin, an analysis of the current and proposed regulations governing that market from production through utilization is necessary. Omni Tech monitors regulations for clients in select markets in order to prevent investment in new product development that will ultimately fail due to regulatory prohibitions or economic burdens imposed by regulatory compliance. We don't start an effort that appears to have little chance of economic success. We also monitor regulations and the economic burden they impose on existing products to ascertain where real economic advantages can be gained by new products in development. We can quantify the cost of regulatory compliance as a part of total system cost to show potential customers how a new product may save them money in use even if it costs more to purchase or requires changes in how the purchaser currently does business. In today's market, almost all industrial products must be tested to assure performance to industry standards. This testing and certification often requires much more time and greater resources than the process of discovery in the lab. Omni Tech associates have developed the expertise through years of commercial experience to take on the challenge of product certification. Product testing and certification are directed by professionals with experience dealing with appropriate industry certification agencies and ASTM committees. This may even require the development of new testing methodology when a new product meets the performance needs for an application but the existing standards are guided by physical properties of existing raw materials not performance specifications.
